Greenwich is the southernmost and westernmost town in Connecticut and just a 38 minute train ride to Grand Central Station in Manhattan. It encompasses 67 square miles—twice the size of Manhattan—of which approximately one quarter is comprised of water. Famous for its hedge funds, movie moguls, and horse farms, it has long been known as one of the most affluent communities in the U.S. and was recently ranked by CNN/Money magazine as No. 1 in the nation for highest median household income.

Greenwich has many fine town amenities. Its library system, of which there are four branches, is one of the most elaborate and respected in the nation. The school system is ranked among the best in the state year after year. The town has many options for private schooling, including four private high schools and the oldest Montessori school in the U.S. Recreational opportunities abound, with four beaches for its residents to enjoy, two of which are islands only accessible by ferry or boat. It also has its own golf course, and there are eight country clubs with golf courses. In 2005, CNN/Money ranked Greenwich 12th on its list of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States.
