Video of $29.1 Million Picasso Auction Purchase
The highest price paid for a work of art at Christie’s June 21 Impressionist/Modern Art Sale in London was for a Picasso painting titled, “Femme assise, robe bleue”. It was bought by a man by the name of Dimitris Mavromatis, a Greek art buyer, for $29.1 million. Click here for a video of the purchase, which gives a fascinating look at a high-stakes art auction.
“Femme assise, robe bleue” had a pre-sale estimate of $6.5 to $12.8 million.
